WHERE TO STAY IN MALTA AND GOZO

Due to its size, Malta offers the rare convenience of easy access to any cultural, entertainment or sport activity within minutes. Armed with a rented car, everywhere is accessible within a half-hour drive. Thus you can be at the beach on one side of the island at 5.00pm and back at your hotel at most at 5.40pm at the other side of the island, and then again at the theatre or a restaurant within half-an-hour. Thus, the distance of particular tourist attractions from your hotel does not matter much in the case of the Maltese islands.

***HOTELS LOCATED ON MALTA'S SISTER ISLAND, GOZO

Malta's sister island, Gozo ("Ghawdex"), lies across a channel. The two islands are not connected by land. Transportation from one island to the other is accomplished by ferry (The Gozo Channel Company) via a 45 minute trip, or by helicopter.

Be careful to verify on which of the two islands the hotel you are booking is located. The following towns are located in Gozo, not the main island Malta:

Marsalforn, San Lawrenz, Sannat, Xaghra, Xlendi, Gharb, Rabat (Victoria), Nadur, Qala, Xewkija, Mgarr.
