The Maltese Islands are generally
regarded as a beach destination with unrivalled historical
monuments thrown in for good measure. But the islands also
offer a colourful nightlife. The 'standards' are all here
- discotheques, restaurants, casinos, cinemas, wine and jazz
bars, theme evenings, sunset cruises and culture galore in
the shoulder months.
Malta's nightlife is centred around St Julian's and Sliema,
two suburbs of Valletta. Both these neighbourhoods have a
multitude of bars and nightclubs, especially St Julians, where
nightclubs and restaurants lie next door to each other, for
streets on end.
